6 The land use plan of Thailand
The results from land use planning process found that the land use plan of
Thailand is divided into the following 8 zones
6.1 Forest zone with the area of 135,085,480 rai, or 42.12 percent of total land
areas, considered by goal, problem in forest area including policy, strategy,
measures of the use of natural in protected forest area, cabinet resolution
and related development plan.
6.2 Agricultural zone with the area of 153,184,527 rai or 47.77 percent of total
land areas, considered by land suitability, development of agricultural
structure, irrigation system for being source of agricultural and food
production. Therefore, Thailand can attain food security and export
products to foreign market and earn more income.
6.3 Community zone with the area of 14,236,101 rai or 4.44 percent of total
land areas, considered by present land use together with country plan and
Ratchaphatsadu land or Royal property as a guidelines of community
management and environment conservation harmonizing with land use
zone.
6.4 Industrial zone with the area of 1,958,639 rai or 0.61 percent of total land
areas, considered by present land use, country plan, and industrial
development plan of Thailand that could be arose in the future.
6.5 Ratchaphatsadu land or Royal property zone with the area of 8,239,599 rai
or 2.57 percent of total land areas, Considered by Ratchaphatsadu land or
Royal property of the Treasury Department.
