2. Objectives
To establish a national land use plan for sustainable development
3. Scopes of the plan
3.1 Study and review past and present information regarding land use law,
policy, and plan.
3.2 Collecting physical data, socio-economic data, and trend of agricultural
economic growth in both domestic and international levels
3.3 Analyze and formulate land use plan for Thailand
1) Review and analyze by DPSIR concept (DPSIR: Driver- Pressure-
State-Impact-Response).
2) Formulate a land use plan, following FAO framework, 1993.
4. Concept framework
Under the constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand B.E. 2560 section 72 (1), the
state should plan the country’s land use to be appropriate to the area conditions
and potentials of the land in accordance with the principle of sustainable
development. This land use planning of Thailand has aligned with land suitability,
land potentials in accordance with sustainable development, in line with Thailand’s
20 year National Strategy, the 20 year Agricultural and Cooperatives Strategy, and
other relevant policies, laws, and plans. In addition, the situation of socio-economic,
production barriers, demand and supply in agriculture, and climate change and
natural disaster for designing land use for Thailand, leading to sustainable
development.
