Preface

Under the constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand B.E. 2560 Section 72 (1),
the state should plan the country’s land use to be appropriate to the area conditions
and potentials of the land in accordance with land suitability and the principle of

sustainable development. One year after the current constitution was promulgated,
the National Reform Plans and Procedures act was enacted on 6 April 2017 by the
announcement of the Office of the Prime Minister. One of the national reform plans
of 11 sectors is a national resources and environment sector that mentioned to

create holistic national land-use plans in accordance with land suitability and socio-
economic development. In order to comply with the Constitution of the Kingdom of
Thailand B.E. 2560 and the national reform plans, Land Development Department
therefore has performed the land use plan of Thailand which will be approved by

the authority of the Land Development Committee under the Section 9 (2) of the
Land Development Act B.E. 2551 before publishing to the public.
